The numbers and style of WOD are representative of the different aspects of diabetes. November 14, or 11/14, is the specific world awareness day for diabetes. Insulin, the drug that keeps Type 1 Diabetics alive, was developed in 1921. An average of 80 people a day are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The up-down chipper rep scheme is to represent the ups and downs Type 1 Diabetics battle every day trying to maintain a healthy blood sugar.
